Emma is an artist, designer and educator. Driven by ideas, play and experimentation, she is drawn to the continual process of testing, adjusting and remaking, where one version invariably suggests the next. Collecting and cataloguing, material and technical exploration, and drawing parallels between the historic and the contemporary all feed into her practice. Her work moves between one-off garments, printed and embroidered textiles, and collage, pivoting around craft, heritage and decoration, and an enduring fascination with making something new from what already exists.
