Volunteer Bookkeeper (Xero) 

Role overview
We’re looking for a reliable volunteer to support our small charity with regular bookkeeping and financial administration using Xero. Tasks include transaction categorisation, bank reconciliations, and simple monthly checks to keep our finances accurate and up to date.

Impact of the role
As our organisation grows, so does the complexity of our finances, including grants, project budgets and multiple income streams. Your support will help maintain clear, organised financial records, essential for a small team.

By taking on this work, you’ll save staff valuable time, allowing us to focus on delivering exhibitions, workshops, and community programmes such as ceramics, sculpture, life drawing and wellbeing classes. You’ll also strengthen our financial reporting, support funding requirements, and help us plan and manage budgets more effectively.

What we’re looking for

• Confident with bookkeeping and financial organisation

• Experience using Xero (especially categorisation and bank reconciliation)

• Able to work independently and maintain accuracy

• Comfortable explaining decisions when needed

You don’t need to be a qualified accountant, just organised, consistent, and confident with bookkeeping tasks.
